Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the main group to begin their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look out of place, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—used the foes for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the party enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Explorers and Planners tables.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
